Wind power pumps billions of dollars into the country’s economy every year. The Four Creeks Wind Project will bring a long-term economic boost to Peoria County by creating new jobs and providing annual tax revenues, which will total more than $200 million dollars over the life of the project. This new influx of tax dollars can be used to improve schools, fund local infrastructure, and enhance emergency services.

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to show my support for the Four Creeks Wind Project. This project will bring viable, long-term benefits to northwest Peoria County while contributing American-made energy to the Central Illinois electric grid. One of the much-needed benefits is the steady increased tax revenue stream this project offers. If this project gets built, the Princeville and Brimfield School Districts will receive more than $142 million over the life of the project, allowing them to make long-term financial plans, invest in new or improved facilities, and recruit qualified teachers. This money will have a positive effect on the opportunities we can give our children for decades.

The project will also pay more than $33 million to the Townships and Peoria County during operations, which would greatly help taxpayers and our towns address the climbing tax burden we face. These funds will be dispersed annually and can be used to fund local infrastructure and other public services without raising local taxes. An additional $53 million in total property tax revenues will be paid over the life of the project to enhance other vital community resources, such as libraries, fire districts, and local road authorities.

Project construction is expected to create more than 230 local family-wage construction jobs as well as at least 10 long-term operation and maintenance jobs. These jobs can help keep young people here in Peoria County by offering good paying employment opportunities.

The Four Creeks Wind Project will deliver tangible, much-needed benefits to our community and I greatly look forward to its success.

Sincerely,
